Fic.❤️ was a very early life tool for connecting readers with personalized recommendations, discussing fics, and building a knowledge base of tropes, tags, and metadata.
This website does not nor ever has used or contributed to generative artificial intelligence or large language models and never processed story text -- it was mostly a very bad search engine for story titles, descriptions, and links to the source site. The "Ai" naming is an in-joke about using statistics and math to produce recommendations and a reference to the Japanese given name meaning love or affection. It was named in a simpler time, before LLM style AI became popular, before the original release of ChatGPT, when things seemed to have a brigher outlook. At this point it is only causing confusion, and since the project never actually did anything useful is being shuttered indefinitely.
